Welcome to The Alpine Oven blog, a collection of lightweight meal recipes developed for situations where calororie intake, weight, size, water usage, time and ease of cooking are premium. For use in backpacking, multi day climbing and kayaking expeditions through to biking and fishing trips, the applications are endless.
Using the guidelines described above, they are a compilation of easily sourced, off the shelf meals with known calorific value, allowing for a personally tailored daily calorie intake, for your chosen activity.
